We want you to be satisfied with SeeTheMenu. This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are handled. It forms part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Service. Payments and refunds are processed through Stripe.

Free trial

Where a free trial is offered (currently 15 days on the Starter plan), you are not charged for the subscription during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, no subscription fee is taken. If you do not cancel, your paid subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial.

Card verification charge

When you add a payment card, we may place a small verification charge (currently €0.50) to confirm the card is valid. This amount is refunded automatically and is never kept.

Your statutory right of withdrawal (EU/EEA consumers)

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, you have a statutory right to withdraw from your initial subscription within 14 days. Because our Service is supplied digitally and immediately, by starting to use a paid feature during this period you ask us to begin performance straight away; you may still withdraw within the 14 days, and we will refund you, less a proportionate amount for any period already provided where applicable. To withdraw, email info@seethemenu.online. This right is in addition to the goodwill refunds below and does not affect your other statutory rights.

Subscription refunds

  • New subscriptions. If you cancel within the first 14 days of your initial paid subscription, you may request a full refund, provided your account has not been flagged for a breach of our Terms (for example, uploading inappropriate content).
  • Renewals. For automatic renewals, we offer a 3-day grace period after the billing date to request a refund, provided the Service has not been used during the new billing cycle.
  • Annual plans. Annual subscriptions follow the same 14-day (new) and 3-day (renewal) windows. After those windows, annual fees are generally non-refundable, though we may offer a prorated refund at our discretion.
  • Add-ons. Optional add-ons (such as the AI chat assistant) follow the same windows; after them, add-on fees are non-refundable for the current period.

When refunds are not available

  • Breach of Terms. Accounts flagged for a breach of our Terms — including uploading inappropriate, vulgar or offensive content — may not be eligible for a refund. We may refuse a refund where we determine the Service was misused or used to distribute prohibited content.
  • Beyond the eligible period. Requests made after the applicable window (14 days for new subscriptions, 3 days for renewals) are generally not honoured, except where required by law.
  • Substantial use. Where paid features (such as live currency conversion, auto-translation, AI assistant or menu scanning) have been substantially used, a full refund may not be available; we may offer a prorated refund at our discretion.

None of the above limits any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer.

How to request a refund

  • Email info@seethemenu.online with your account email, subscription type and the reason for your request.
  • Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, normally within 7–10 business days of approval (the time for the funds to appear depends on your bank or card issuer).
  • We will confirm by email once your refund has been processed.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period; after that it is not renewed. Cancelling stops future charges but does not, by itself, trigger a refund for the current period except as set out above.

Chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first so we can resolve it quickly — this is usually faster than a bank dispute. Raising a chargeback without contacting us may lead to suspension of the account while the dispute is investigated.
