1. Introduction and acceptance
Welcome to SeeTheMenu. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and SeeTheMenu, operated by Nikos Broikos, Athens, Greece ("SeeTheMenu", "we", "us"). By creating an account, subscribing, or using our digital-menu service (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. The Service
SeeTheMenu provides a digital-menu display service that lets restaurant owners and managers present their menus to customers through electronic formats accessible via QR codes, together with optional features such as automatic translation, live currency conversion, an AI menu assistant, menu scanning from photos, and print/PDF export. The Service merely facilitates the display of content provided by users; we do not create, curate or verify that content, including the legality of the menu items listed.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a contract to open an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep the confidentiality of your login credentials, and to be responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at info@seethemenu.online of any unauthorised use or security breach. You are responsible for all local, national and international laws applicable to your use of the Service.
4. Subscriptions, plans and billing
- Plans. Paid plans (currently Starter, Pro and Business) are offered on a monthly or annual basis, each with its own features and menu-item limits as described on our pricing page. Optional add-ons (such as the AI chat assistant) may carry an additional fee.
- Payment. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us, through Stripe, to charge your payment method the applicable fees, including any taxes (VAT is calculated and applied via Stripe Tax based on your billing location).
- Card verification. When you add a card we may place a small verification charge (currently €0.50), which is automatically refunded. This confirms the card is valid.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard.
- Price changes. We may change fees; we will give reasonable advance notice, and changes take effect at your next renewal. Continuing after the change means you accept the new price.
5. Free trial
Where offered (currently a 15-day free trial on the Starter plan), a valid payment method is required to start the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription automatically begins and the applicable fee is charged. Only one trial is available per customer. We may modify or withdraw trial offers at any time.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time; your paid access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which it is not renewed. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have as a consumer.
7. Acceptable use and content guidelines
Content guidelines. You must not upload logos, social links, menu items or any other content that is:
- Explicitly sexual, violent, or depicting nudity in any form;
- Discriminatory, hateful, or promoting violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual preference, disability or any other characteristic;
- Illegal, including content that infringes intellectual-property rights or promotes illegal activities.
You must not misuse the Service, including attempting to gain unauthorised access, disrupt or overload it, scrape it, circumvent security or usage limits, or use the AI features to submit other people's personal data without a lawful basis, to generate unlawful content, or to attempt to manipulate or extract the underlying AI systems.
Review and removal. We reserve the right to review and remove any content we deem inappropriate, offensive or in breach of these Terms, without prior notice. Menus reported for violations may be temporarily disabled until resolved. Repeat offenders may be suspended or terminated.
8. AI-powered features and disclaimers
The AI menu assistant, menu scanning, document import and automatic translation are provided as conveniences and rely on third-party AI providers (see the Privacy Policy). They are provided "as is", and we do not guarantee that AI-generated results (extracted items, prices, translations or suggestions) are accurate, complete or current. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting AI-generated content before relying on or publishing it. The AI chat assistant provides menu suggestions only and does not give medical, allergen, nutritional or dietary advice; diners with allergies or dietary requirements must confirm with staff. Before submitting photos or documents for scanning, ensure you have the right to do so.
9. User content, responsibility and licence
Your rights. You retain all rights to the content you upload, and grant SeeTheMenu a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, use, display and distribute that content solely to operate and provide the Service to you.
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for the content you upload — including text, images and logos — and for ensuring you have all necessary rights and permissions and that it complies with applicable law. By uploading a logo you confirm you have the right to use it and that it does not infringe any trademark, copyright or other right; we may remove any logo or content we consider problematic.
Data protection. If your content or your use of the Service includes personal data about other people (for example your customers or staff), you are the data controller for that data, you must have a lawful basis for it, and we act as your processor as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Legal compliance and food law
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your menus — including all food and drink items — comply with all local, national and international laws applicable to your business, including food-safety and labelling laws. We do not monitor menu contents or provide legal-compliance guidance, and we do not enforce any food laws. We may remove content we become aware of and determine to be clearly illegal or infringing; our failure to remove content does not endorse it or waive our rights.
11. Currency conversion and translation
Currency-conversion rates are updated several times daily from global market data, and translations are automated. Both are provided "as is", without any guarantee of accuracy or timeliness.
12. Intellectual property
The Service itself — including our software, design, branding and the "SeeTheMenu" name and logo — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you no rights in it except the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
13. Availability and changes to the Service
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation; it may be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons beyond our control. We may add, change or discontinue features.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. This section does not exclude any warranty or right that cannot be excluded under mandatory law, including consumer-protection law.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SeeTheMenu and its operators, affiliates, officers and employees will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. To the extent we are liable, our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SeeTheMenu, its affiliates, officers, agents and employees from any claim or demand made by a third party arising out of your content, your use or misuse of the Service, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right. This section does not apply to the extent a loss is caused by us and cannot be shifted to you under applicable law.
17. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or fail to pay. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. On termination, the licence granted to us in your content ends, save for copies we must retain by law; provisions that by their nature should survive (including sections 9, 14, 15 and 16) will survive.
18. Your rights as a consumer
If you use the Service as a consumer in the EU/EEA, you keep all mandatory rights under applicable consumer-protection law, which these Terms do not limit. You may also access the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
19. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes are subject to the competent courts of Athens, Greece, except that, if you are a consumer, you may also bring proceedings in, and benefit from the mandatory laws of, your country of residence.
20. Third-party links
The Service may contain links to third-party websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or practices, and their inclusion is not an endorsement. Review their terms and privacy policies before using them or sharing personal information.
21. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "last updated" date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify account holders. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
22. Contact us
